“Rosco”

Heading, Breakaway & Barrel Horse

18-Year-Old Gelding • Grade (Known Pedigree)

Rosco has been one of our A-team horses for the past 6–7 years, and he's the kind of versatile, dependable gelding that's hard to come by.

Before joining our program, Rosco had a successful career as a barrel horse, competing in the Central Plains Region college rodeo circuit and qualifying for short rounds. He also competed in calf roping at the high school rodeo level. Since then, we've transitioned him into team roping, where he's proven to be an outstanding head horse.

Rosco is as user-friendly as they come. He's been used extensively in our clinics and mentorships, accommodating ropers of all ages and experience levels. On the heading side, he scores great, leaves flat, handles cattle easily, and has a nice face. He's the kind of horse that makes it easy to focus on your roping, whether you're just getting started or have years of experience under your belt. He's equally solid in the breakaway, with plenty of cow, a great score, and a smooth stop that allows you to shut things off and stop the clock.

For someone looking for an all-around rodeo horse, Rosco has plenty to offer outside the roping pen, too. He still runs a great barrel pattern and would be a strong candidate for junior rodeos or 4D–5D barrel racing.

Rosco is just a wonderful horse to have around. He's honest, versatile, easy to get along with, and has been a valuable part of our program for years. Whether you're looking for a dependable head horse, a breakaway mount, or a horse that can do a little bit of everything, Rosco deserves a look.
