AVAILABLE HORSES
“Reba”
Breakaway, Tie-Down and Heel Horse
Grade Mare • 18-20 Years Old • 14.1 HH • 1,050 lbs.
If you're looking for a solid, honest rope horse that can accommodate a wide range of riders and skill levels, Reba is one worth considering.
Reba has been part of our program for the past 8-10 years. We purchased her for my son, Wade, and she's proven herself to be a dependable, versatile mare ever since. She's been used in breakaway, tie-down roping, and heeling (both dally and tie-on). She's best suited for #7–#11 ropings, although higher-numbered ropers have gotten along with her well, too. She scores well, has plenty of cow, and is easy to rope on.
One of Reba's greatest qualities is her ability to adapt to whoever is riding her. We've used her extensively during our mentorship weeks, putting riders of all ages and experience levels on her, and everyone gets along with her great. Whether you want to slow things down and build confidence or pick up the pace, she's happy to accommodate. She's an excellent horse for getting quality repetitions in without having to worry about what's underneath you.
Reba would make a great fit for a younger roper competing at the junior high, high school, or collegiate level, or someone looking for a reliable, user-friendly horse to sharpen their skills. While we haven't tied calves on her recently, it shouldn't take much to get her tuned back up in that discipline.
Reba hasn't had the wheels ridden off of her and still has plenty left to offer. She's the kind of solid, honest mare that's hard to replace.
